Julius Ceasar Malone

Obituary:
Julius Caesar (J.C.) Malone, a USAF, Korean War Veteran, was born January 22, 1933, made his transition into the arms of God on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, joining his beloved wife of 43 years, Priscilla Carey Malone. 

Julius, son of the late Coy Davis (C.D.) & Mable Elizabeth (Drewery) Malone, accepted Christ at an early age.  He was a graduate of Akron Public Schools, including Jennings Junior High and North High.  While in junior high school through high school he worked at the record shop on Mill Street.   He entered the United States Air Force, where he was a chemist.  Upon returning from his Tour of Duty, he worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over forty years.  He was an avid bowler, aggressive reader, bid whist player, dominos and checkers champ, and a roller skater in his day.  He loved the outdoors, flowers and gardening.  He always had a nice yard.   He and his late wife, Priscilla fished together and were very active in their church Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Buchtel High School Booster Club, Dover Avenue Block Club and the Mall Walkers Group, and he was a basketball coach at Mt. Olive Baptist Church during the early 70’s.  While a lifetime member of Mt. Olive, he also was a part of the Men’s Chorus, a Sunday School Teacher, Seniors Group, worked in the church garden, food pantry and greeter.  He was a willing worker and helped many people, and gave out school supplies to his nieces, nephews and neighborhood children.   He held the office of Treasurer for the Davis Family Reunion for many years.  He was also a photographer by hobby and shared photos with family and friends from various events, reunions and gatherings. 

Julius is preceded in death by wife Priscilla Carey Malone, son Malachia Carey Malone and parents, Coy Davis (C.D.) and Mable E. Malone.   He is survived by devoted, caring and committed children, Alexander (Marlene) Carey, Karen D. (Darrel A.) Peaks, Maurice D. Malone, grandchildren, Jaye Carey of Orlando, FL, Allen C. Carey of Pensacola, FL, Curtis T., Blaine J., Aaron I. Carey all of Akron,  Demetrius T. (Stephanie L.) Gary of Champaign, IL, Sean C. (Tara) Gary of Cincinnati, Dara (Shawn) Cooper of Bellville, IL, and Gloria Peaks of Columbus.  Great Grandchildren, Vontre Morgan of Florida, Zayon A. Carey of Orlando, Kurtis N. Carey, Akron,  Laurie Jordan, Columbus, Christie Jordan, Belleville, Kyle Peaks, Sacramento, Kara Peaks and Sky Angel Crouthers, Columbus, Trinity Cooper, NY, Arielle, Kaleb and Cairo Gary of Cincinnati and great great grandchild Leilani Greathow.  Beloved Sisters and Brother In Law, Marjorie (McKinley) Seaphus and Theresa W. Mack.  He is also survived by special and devoted brothers and sister in laws, Moses Carey, Dayton, Samuel (Mary) Carey of Carson CA, Lawrence (Carole) Carey of Pomona, CA, Margaree Brooks of Compton, CA, Elijah Carey of Birmingham, Leola Calhoun, Fresno, CA, Egbert (Anita) Carey of Miami, Samson Carey of Birmingham, Howard Carey of Mesquite, Texas and Clemetine Carey, Los Angeles, CA.  Special Lifetime Friends include William Murphy, Rev. Brown, Ernest McCallister, J. D. White, and a host of Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and friends.   Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio
